Notice: We are preparing for a major revamp of our documentation and product offerings in early January 2026. In the meantime, check out the Brilliant Beta. Our current priorities include launching the Splendor Cloud Platform and growing Statue.dev.

Get to know Brilliant instances and their lifecycle

Instance Overview and Lifecycle

Cloud-Based Linux Instance

The extension runs on a Linux-based environment hosted in the cloud. Each instance operates in a secure, isolated container, ensuring user data separation.

Single Instance

Brilliant currently supports one instance per account. Support for creating and managing multiple instances is coming soon.

Instance Lifecycle

Brilliant instances are provisioned on demand. They remain inactive until a user connects, at which point the environment spins up dynamically. Instances pause automatically after one minute of inactivity (e.g. closing the tab or losing connection). Opening Brilliant again will automatically resume the most recently paused instance.
